Day 117
Last day of work. See ya Staten Island. I gotta say I won’t miss your smelly smell.
Last night I stayed up pretty late working on the final video that I HOPE I can finish the morning of the wedding to post. Now I’m rethinking the song I chose. I might make two with the same footage and post them both to see which people like the most. Or I might go with my gut and use the one I’ve already set up.
At this point the fiance and I are just ready for this thing to be here. All these little finer details keep popping. Let’s just get these rings on the finger, let me kiss her and lets get to some dancing.
Tomorrow is filled with running around getting stuff done and possibly me shopping for some honeymoon shorts. I just realized I only have one pair that fit. Whoops! That’s what happens when you shed for the wed.
Day 116
Tomorrow is my final day at work until the wedding and I was working my tail off to make sure I got everything squared away before I left. Part of me was worrying I wouldn’t get it done in time so I could go into the gym but I had one of those days where I kept thinking I had more to do and then I look at my to do list and cross everything off. I then shrugged my shoulders and headed to the gym.
Out of all these days, this is the first time I grabbed some clips of me using the elliptical and treadmill. The few people that were in the gym thought it was kind of strange but I then they focused their attention to not get hit by my sweat.
It’s a good thing I’m staying up late to catch Dave Matthews perform a new song off his new album (NERD). While waiting I started putting together parts of the final video and this one specific part is going to take a pretty long time. I’m not even half done this 10 second segment and I’ve been working on it for an hour. Ho hum. I have time.
Day 115
I will be sore tomorrow. Today was the first time in awhile that I was going through my full work out. I can already feel some parts of me getting tight. Ho hum. Gotta put the final push through to make sure I hit the weight.
Tonight we shall finish the program, practice some dancing, get all the other things out of the way so we aren’t going crazy and I’m going to attempt to get the basics of the final video together. One problem is I haven’t filmed in a really long time. It’s tough to film when no one wants to go into the gym and watch you sweat/have other people watching them filming a guy sweat. I’m hoping I have enough to put this thing together. I should considering I’ve put together three videos already and I will most definitely be reusing footage. Tonight I have to at least lock down a song. I was going to use the Rocky IV training montage song but I already used that for the Meat Head video. Looks like I’ll do some sorting through the iTunes and Googling tonight.
The weather is looking nice for Saturday. Down the home stretch we come.
Day 114
Today it was essential to get my 5K in early. As I finished up it started pouring and then I didn’t have to worry about it when the Flyers took the ice and kicked the snot out of the Penguins.
The fiance and I are getting our compromise on today. She wanted watch Bridezilla’s all day and I wanted to watch Mission Impossible IV. Compromise was me watching two hours of Bridezilla’s with her so I can tell her what she’s not allowed to do and now I get to watch myself some MI:4.
Only two and a half days of work starting tomorrow.
Day 112
Buzz. You’re Girlfriend. WOOF. That’s how my legs feel after my first run in nearly a week and a half. I thought it was going to be worse though. I did a 5K at 9:20 pace which makes me realize I won’t reach my goal of doing my 5K course in under 24 minutes. But that’s ok since the fiance joined a running group and she is having me do 4-5 5K’s this summer. So I’ll have my chance to get the under 24 minute mark.
As much as I got used to coming home and laying on the couch to watch some TV or talk to the fiance, I realized I need to power through this last week and a half to guarantee I’m under weight. I haven’t had a scare yet but I always like to get that extra credit in to make sure I hit the goal. The worst thing to happen is for me to go through this entire thing and not hit it and think “I could have done more.”
On another note, people read this? I talked to someone I haven’t worked with in about a year or two and she mentioned she’s been reading this thing (MOLLY!). I know a maybe 2.5 other people that read this but now I’m curious. Do people read this? If you do - comment. I’m not sure how to comment but try to figure it out.
Day 111
I’m not dead. Don’t worry. I’ve just been busy with wedding stuff. Bad news is I’ve been so busy I haven’t really worked out except for when playing frisbee golf. The good news is I just weighed in and was still good to go. The bad news is I took a picture for the first time and it seemed some weight may have shifted from the lean to the lumpy.
Tomorrow is an official weigh in and I’m going to be hitting the gym pretty hard. Everyday from here on out is a at least 3+ mile run day.
Day 105
Been busy with wedding stuff. Haven’t worked out since 102. Good news is the weigh in - was still rocking good.
Bachelor party this weekend. Yikes!
Day 102
I had a fun little run this morning. Complete with my big toe and it’s blood blister. I powered it out with today being the first time I’m not sure how far I ran. Out of all these days this is the first time I’ve ran on a park trail. Can’t really map that (or can I?).
Phillies home opener today and then my first cheese steak from Pat’s since who knows.
Day 99
Refitted for the tux. Down 3 jacket sizes, 3 pant sizes and one shirt size. That is all.
Day 98 - Album Run #5
The Beatles - Abbey Road
I thought this would be really fun to run to. And for the most part it was. But man of man “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” is awful. If there was one song I skip on this album it’s this one. But I didn’t realize how long it was until I was running and kept thinking I should skip it. But that defeats the purpose of what I set out to do.
In the end I ran a little longer than the album length since I was so close to six miles. I’m not sure if I mentioned this but one of my goals is to run a marathon’s worth of miles in one week. I’m pretty settled that I’ll never run a marathon due to knee issues so this is a good goal.
Last week I slacked and didn’t run my 20 miles in the week. Up until then I’ve been getting the feat done pretty well. But it’s been pretty hard and this adds what usually is two extra days worth of running. To do the 26.2 in one week averages out to 3.7 miles a day. Add in I normally take a day off to rest and I’m looking at nearly four and a half miles in each running.
I usually like to space my week out with a few longer ones combined with some shorter faster ones. Longer ones are usually in the five range and shorter ones are in the two-three range. Technically my week starts today and as I said before I was able to get in six on the dot. If I can get two more of those in I should be in good shape so that I can put in some two and a half, three milers and not totally kill my left knee.
